Salary: up to £70,000 pa

Job Introduction
We are the Discovery and Personalisation team. A dedicated team of Product Managers at all levels with a lead engineer, delivery lead and UX designers along with research and editorial support. We work in close partnership with the Content Discovery team and our sibling verticals (Enablement, Lifecycle, Life and Playback).
We affectionately call ourselves Disco with HEAVY use of the disco ball emoji of course. We have a team charter with our values and run plenty of team building activities in our workshops and weekly sessions (ask the team about their toast making process...) and are currently forming plans for disco brunches, lunches, drinks (you get the picture).
What is our vision? We help every iPlayer user find, discover and engage with content they love, every day, so they are wow by the experience. They will be so delighted that they will recommend us to their friends and family!
How we do this? We turbocharge the experiences using technology, data, creative, content and operations to make it iPlayer easy, quick and personally relevant for every user, every day... making it a habit. Are are currently focusing on the homepage, search, franchises and a wider personalisation of the iPlayer journeys.
How do we measure success? We increase our weekly users, we get them to consume more weekly, and we get them to come more often. This means more retention, less users abandon the session, shorter time to viewing, users increase the number of programmes they watch with us in a week.
We work hard to come up with impactful initiatives that all drive iPlayer to become the no1. Streaming service in the UK but we also make sure that we have fun with it and the level of collaboration and support in our team is incredible.
Main responsibilities
You will:
Your days will be filled with user problems, strategic thinking, experimentation and data analysis, with a laser focus on the individual audience persona and user journeys that matter; getting underneath the hood to really understand them and their tastes, desires, wishes , wants and pain points.
You know how to tackle foggy problems, working with the team to break them down into manageable chucks.
You'll build out many user experiences and/or personas based on analytics, data and surveys, and will keep an eye competitors and personalisation best-in-class players.
You will identify and isolate the most common and impactful use cases and experiences, to plan your roadmap and work with UX, Engineering, Data science, Tech Architects, Metadata and Editorial teams to create solutions that work for our audience, and that we can scale.

- You're confident and aware of your skills and experience with the metrics and KPIs to back up and tell the story of your impact.
- You're data driven and experienced Product Manager and have the user at the heart of your decision making ( We want to see evidence of engaging with the audience)
- Evidence of stakeholder engagement (not just leadership team)
- Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
- Collaboration with multiple teams to lead them on a product journey to deliver and make things happen for users
- Good skills in working with UX teams and research
- Ideally you have worked with scalable, reusable data science solutions and APIs, and know how they are used to create user experiences
- You bring though leadership to what you to, and can see the big picture as well as the path to achieve it
- You are naturally curious about user behaviours about personalisation and fandom
- Ownership of a roadmap and accountability
- Agile practices / ways of working
- Skills in problem and use case prioritisation and trade off techniques
- You take active part in building our product culture and practice, sharing what you know or learning together
- Enthusiastic about learning, problem solving, and growing knowledge collaboratively within a team setting.
- Ability to manage your own time and prioritise tasks efficiently.
