Introduction
A Solution Manager (Automation) supports the delivery and development of the BBC's expanding suites of studio automation systems. Focused on ensuring value for all audiences and providing excellent tools for BBC colleagues to do their jobs, they contribute to delivering the roadmap for studio automation across content divisions, brands, and output areas. They support leaders in their team to maintain alignment and delivery of studio automation in line with the business's requirements and the BBC's technology strategy.

Responsibilities
Supports and contributes to the delivery of a roadmap for studio automation, meeting the business's requirements and in line with the BBC's technology strategy.
Works in partnership with the business, establishing and prioritising requirements.
Significant experience in supporting the management of complex studio automation systems such as Mosart, across a range of BBC brands and studios. Has a high level of experience in the management of systems that integrate with the BBC's studio automation systems.
Is confident in explaining the benefits and trade-offs of studio automation-related technology choices, builds knowledge and understanding of the current technology estate, and has a good appreciation of the wider BBC technology landscape and priorities.
Works extremely collaboratively with operators, editorial managers, leads, and stakeholders to integrate the roadmap for studio automation with priorities and strategies in news, sport, and other areas, looking to reuse common components, rationalize systems, and simplify and standardise workflows.
Adopts a flexible approach, balancing buy, build, and integration, as is most appropriate in the circumstances, working always to maximize the value returned from the investment, to provide consistency and simplicity, and to minimize duplication and inefficiency.
Ensures that studio automation solutions are governed, supportable, and in line with defined processes and principles.
Contributes to the design and delivery of studio automation projects and launches. Often acting as the studio automation lead on site during a launch process.
Works with assigned project delivery specialists and external parties to support project delivery in order that these are delivered on time and in budget, and risks, dependencies, and issues are well managed. Ensures that the BBC's studio automation systems are maintained and developed always in line with agreed pan-BBC programming concepts, and that rationalisation and parity is prioritised.
Guides the work of systems engineers, specialists, and business analysts who are providing work directly related to studio automation systems.
Works collaboratively within teams who work closely with studio automation systems to contribute to the creation of an ambitious, inclusive, diverse, and welcoming environment, so that everybody feels supported to be their authentic self and to perform to the best of their ability.
Works within agile delivery teams as required, working with delivery managers, engineering, and user experience to deliver internal products to deadlines.
Develops and maintains great relationships with pan-BBC and external stakeholders, delivery partners, and suppliers as well as with colleagues and internal stakeholders.
Responsible for the day-to-day management of support tickets with vendors, ensuring that the BBC receives the services required and achieves the best value.
Responsible for BAU support of the BBC's studio automation systems, managing the site-wide studio automation-related error reporting and feature request processes. Providing systems for error resolution and feature delivery metrics.
Supporting and guiding the pan-BBC Mosart superuser group. Leading superuser meetings, listening to issues, and engaging with supportive conversations with superusers. Feeding superuser requests and problems back to the studio automation team.
This role may involve travel as part of BBC project delivery work.

Experience in providing, managing, and maintaining studio automation and gallery control systems and/or other operational gallery and studio technology.

Experience in managing TX critical systems.
Great time management and prioritisation skills. Ability to work between multiple, sometimes conflicting, demands.
