Our Data Engineering Team are looking for a Snowflake Platform Engineer to join the Group Data and Analytics Team who will administer and support all aspects of Snowflake and Enterprise data platform environment.

Our Data Engineering Team are looking for a Snowflake Platform Engineer to join the Group Data and Analytics Team who will administer and support all aspects of Snowflake and Enterprise data platform environment.
What you can expect to be doing:
- You will join as a member of the Data Engineering team within the group's Core Data team, to administer and support the design, delivery and maintenance of our Enterprise Data platform that serves multiple business units to deliver data.
- You will be contributing towards the design and implementation of numerous complex data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics and business intelligence (BI) systems.
- Contribute towards building, managing, and maintaining the data & analytics platforms, tools & data supply services.
- You will partner with other Data Engineers, under the guidance of the Lead Data Engineer, to create complex data processing pipelines to solve our most ambitious challenges.
- You will collaborate with Data Scientists to develop scalable implementations of their models
- Responsible for seamlessly incorporating data quality into your day-to-day work as well as into the delivery process
- Work very closely and collaboratively with the wider technology team to enable data & machine learning to be seamlessly integrated into business & technology services. Work alongside data profilers, DQ analysts & data architects to gather engineering requirements
What we are looking for from you:
Essential experience:
- Very strong SQL skills.
- Experience in data warehousing, semantic layer definitions and scaled data consumption patterns.
- Working understanding of Kimball modelling techniques
- Extensive experience in custom ETL design, implementation and maintenance
- Hands-on experience on using technologies such as Snowflake, Apache Airflow, relational and NoSQL data stores at scale.
- Hands-on project experience with scripting/programming languages and supporting tools such as Python or Java
- Hands on experience with data integration products like DBT, Fivetran, Talend, Informatica, etc.
- Experience in cloud data engineering, preferably on AWS.
- Aptitude to learn new technologies and analytical methodologies relating to business intelligence and data analysis
- Understanding of Customer and Personally Sensitive Data
Desirable experience:
- Experience of DataOps (CI/CD, Git, Terraform etc)
- Experience delivering data pipelines using DBT
- Experience of the usage of APIs and consuming data for analysis purposes.
- Experience in release management processes from a product/ application and technical perspective
- Experience in using BI reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, etc
- Knowledge and experienced in Agile approach.
