Summary
We are looking for an experienced, commercially savvy procurement professional to join our Procurement Team here at M&S. You'll bring first-class communication, negotiation, influencing and networking skills to the role, along with a passion for maximising value.

As a member of the wider Corporate & Property Procurement team, you will contribute towards defining and delivering value specifically to the Property business unit, targeted with building close relationships and delivering real value in construction contracts and materials costs. With a spend of c.£200m across more than 300 suppliers, you will develop close business partnerships with Property and advise on all things commercial.

To stay close to customers, our support teams are in the office three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.

What you'll do

Your key accountabilities will include

• Developing and delivering procurement strategies across Store Equipment, Construction fit out and Professional Services within Property areas
• Running end-to-end Source to Contract activity, taking ownership for the development and approval of sourcing strategies, market testing, negotiation and contract award
• Handling the business contracts approvals process
• Leading on key agency / supplier relationships within the category and implementing appropriate contract management activities to drive value throughout the contract lifecycle
• Develop a risk approach in the context of Property and developing plans for creating awareness and mitigation
• Supporting the wider Corporate & Property team

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include

• Procurement experience, ideally gained within Property areas
• Strong commercial mindset, confident and capable of challenging the status quo
• Experience of managing sourcing projects end-to-end
• Experience of contract drafting including development of schedules, commercials, and appropriate terms and conditions
• Experience of managing supplier relationships and contracts to maximise value
