A summary of the role:

We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level BI Engineer to join our diverse team. This role is central to maintaining and improving our existing B2C and B2B data cubes, ensuring they deliver ongoing value to our finance and marketing departments. You will apply your BI knowledge while participating in our cube migration and modernization initiatives, moving towards our cloud-based solutions.

This role will be right for you if you are happy to:
  • Collaborate with collaborators across various departments to refine and implement data solutions.
  • Handle day-to-day project work to ensure timely execution of BI initiatives.
  • Act as a technical resource in the BI domain, especially concerning cube-based solutions.
  • Engage in the design and development of robust, scalable data solutions within our BI landscape.
  • Contribute to problem-solving within project scopes, offering analytical insights to pinpoint and rectify issues.
  • Support the translation of high-level data design into detailed technical implementations.
  • Maintain and enhance data solutions through their lifecycle, ensuring they meet functional and operational standards.

Requirements for the role:

Essential
  • Experience in Data Engineering or a related field, with a shown foundation in data warehousing technologies and BI.
  • Proficient in SQL, with a consistent track record of developing complex queries and stored procedures.
  • Experience with ETL tools and processes, preferably with MS SQL, DAX, SSIS, and Airflow.
  • Exposure to data migration projects, ideally involving transitions to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with database design, performance optimization, and version control systems (e.g., GitHub).
Desirable
  • Experience with BI semantic layers or abstraction layers.
  • Knowledge of modern BI and data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Understanding of non-traditional databases (AWS Redshift, MongoDB).
  • Background in using Python for data tasks.
  • Experience in a DevOps culture, focusing on operational support and system monitoring.
