We are hiring for an Indirect Tax Senior Manager for Eurasia, Middle East & Africa region, for the Company's Global Indirect Tax Center of Excellence (ITX COE). This role will report to EMEA ITX Director and will support expansion of the regional Indirect ITX COE and lead the regional ITX function to ensure adherence to indirect tax compliance & regulations.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Member of the Global R2R Operations Team, Indirect Tax Senior Manager supports the Indirect tax day-to-day operations in the Eurasia, Middle East & Africa region to ensure effective indirect tax process and optimal technology, data, tools, processes, vendor management (3rd party service providers) and resourcing.
- Together with the EMEA ITX Director, will support expansion of the regional ITX COE and be responsible for ensuring the team has the necessary resources to operate effectively.
- Leads the regional ITX function to ensure adherence to indirect tax regulations & compliance across all countries in the region:
- manages and supervises a team of ITX Consultants who are accountable for timely and accurate ITX reporting obligations in relevant jurisdictions,
- the job holder and a team of ITX Consultants connect with different process teams (P2P, OTC, Intercompany) to ensure that transactions are posted correctly in the ERP (SAP), from the ITX perspective (e.g. correct tax codes are being used).
- Together with the EMEA ITX Director will work on the tactical approach for the sub-regional indirect tax process and align it with corporate and business goals as well as external trends e.g. digitalization of tax reporting toward authorities in the sub-region.
- Responsible for enforcing regional indirect tax policies and governance frameworks i.e. standardized operating procedures for ITX compliance. Ensuring consistency in tax practices and documentation with the regional and ITX policy framework.
- Proactively identifies, assesses, and mitigates indirect tax reporting risks and opportunities. Collaborates with corporate, reginal OU and other stakeholders on indirect tax audits and disputes.
- Provides input to ITX Director on risks and exposures of potential business setups and projects and advises on ITX neutral solutions/solutions with less budget impact.
- Accountable for having meaningful metrics/KPIs in place as well as for identifying newly required metrics and communication to relevant stakeholders.
- Close collaboration with tax technology team on solutions that:
- determine correct VAT treatment and automate VAT reporting,
- generate business reports on KPIs (outstanding VAT, VAT aging etc.) and risks.
- Business partnering and interaction with i.a. Corporate Tax, 3rd party service providers, Operating Units and Legal Entity Controllers in the respective sub-region.
Minimum Requirements
- 5-8 years of indirect tax compliance experience in a multi-national company.
- Master's degree in finance/accounting or tax law/law is preferrable. Professional tax certification would be desired.
- Strong knowledge of Indirect Tax Regulations in the region.
- Understanding of SAP and indirect tax reporting tools and systems (e.g. Vertex).
- Relevant involvement in change projects and initiatives, with an operational excellence mindset.
- Critical thinking, business knowledge, and problem-solving skills working with multiple internal and stakeholders, internal and external auditors, third party vendors, understanding risk and urgency in the preparation and delivery of an appropriate response balanced against competing deliverables.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, with ability to multi-task with proven follow-through and adherence to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong demonstration of business acumen, financial competency, English language fluency, global thinking, effective communication, systems proficiency, change adaptability, flexibility, being able to operate in ambiguous situations, business partnership and collaboration, and risk management.
Functional Skills:
- Indirect Tax Expertise: Strong knowledge of Indirect Tax Regulations in the EMEA region.
- Tax technology: Understanding of ERP and indirect tax reporting tools and systems (e.g. SAP, Vertex)
- Change management: Relevant involvement in change projects and initiatives, with an operational excellence mindset.
- Process follow-through: Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, understanding risk and urgency in the preparation and delivery of an appropriate response balanced against competing deliverables.
- Multi-tasking: Able to work in a fast-paced environment, with ability to multi-task with proven follow-through and adherence to changing priorities and deadlines.
