We are open to secondment applications from other organisations.
The location of this role is National where we offer hybrid working, you will be based in one of our following offices and from home - Newcastle, York, Manchester, London, Birmingham, Swindon, Bristol, Portsmouth (Fort Cumberland) and Cambridge.

What you will be doing
As our Head of External Affairs, you will be responsible for Historic England's strategy for stakeholder engagement and parliamentary work across the organisation.
Reporting to the Communications Director, you will help shape the direction of Historic England's external affairs so that stakeholders support the role of heritage in economic growth and tackling key government priorities like housing, achieving Net Zero and inclusive opportunities.
Working closely with our media team, public engagement managers, and colleagues in other Groups, you will build support from partners and parliamentarians for our vision and mission.
You will ensure that our brand continues to grow and gain positive recognition among stakeholders, and that we are in a two-way conversation with influential audiences about the value of heritage so that everyone can play their part in championing and protecting the historic environment to improve people's lives.
