You'll be responsible for:


  • Positioning, promoting, and protecting the Mace brand and our clients' interests in relation to health, safety, and wellbeing (HSW).
  • Assisting with the development, management and implementation of agreed HSW processes and procedures through the relevant areas and its supply chain in accordance with policies, principles, and standards.
  • Managing functional elements of the operational health, safety, and wellbeing HSW function into an such that it is efficient, effective, and cohesive team.
  • Working collaboratively with the assurance function and other departments in the pursuit of continuous improvement.
  • Issuing timely and effective escalation of non-compliance issues they are unable to influence or achieve a satisfactory conclusion and supporting Client teams to do the same.
  • Promoting and delivering HSW management best practice to the Client teams
  • Enabling the assessment, management, and mitigation of risk in accordance with relevant regulations and good practice.
  • Ensuring compliance with the sector specific HS&W training plan and KPI's agreed with or assigned by the consultancy sector SLTbusiness or client.
  • Developing and promoting succession planning and identifies identify career development activities for their HS&W team.

You'll need to have:


  • Practical experience in the following sectors: Infrastructure (e.g., rail, highways, aviation, defence, energy, utilities, nuclear) corporate real estate, new build, additions and alterations, fitting out and maintenance
  • Experience developing development and delivery of HSW business strategy and plans.
  • The ability to implement critical HS&W strategies and solutions when mobilising major programmes.
  • A track record of achieving a strong health, safety and wellbeing HSW culture across international regions, where people feel a sense of personal responsibility for HSW.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a flexible approach to different work environments.
  • The ability to contribute to the development of local regional and global management systems, processes and procedures.
  • Experience in developing innovation and best practice, including clearly communicating these to the wider business and our clients.
  • Demonstrate the self-motivation, ability and drive to succeed.
  • Gravitas that will appeal to clients and gain the respect of the management team.
  • A senior level profile within the sector and across different regions
  • The ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships at a senior level, establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with client and stakeholders including design team members, contractors, sub-contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Experience in managing, coaching and developing teams and individuals.
  • A natural ability to appraise, develop and motivate staff and high performing teams.
  • Experience in change management processes and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written including presenting skills Solid administration and IT skills - advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • The ability to represent Mace at relevant forums and through presentations to clients and working groups.
  • The ability to support the Mace bids and work winning processes including writing responses to HSW questions,
  • Experience in bidding and securing multinational projects, programmes or frameworks is an advantage.
  • Demonstrate determination through professionalism and a winning mentality.
  • Ability to sell the Mace brand, service offerings and capabilities.
  • Accomplished negotiation skills with the ability to preserve company interests at all times.
  • An eagerness to contribute fresh ideas on HSW strategy, business planning and business development that challenge the normal.

You'll also have:


  • Degree qualification in safety and be a member of a professional body.
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Construction or Project Management background.
  • A relevant experience in Asia is a significant advantage.
