The programme:
Major multi-year programme opportunity, working in a client facing delivery partner model, leading a large, direct and integrated, team.
This role will be responsible for delivering PMO and programme management consultancy services on this long-term client commission, supporting the development of our people, our client's organisation and creating an important legacy.
Lead, adapt and deliver the strategy and business plan for the programme portfolio, ensuring consistency of policy, processes and procedures in line with group standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Oversees and promotes effective relationships with all clients, suppliers, partners and internally across the business unit and the wider group.
- Promotes and champions the highest standards and adherence to health, safety and wellbeing across portfolio, leading by example and demonstrating outstanding professional behaviours.
- Utilises deep expertise and knowledge of programme management principles of architecture, governance, reporting and communication to holistically visualise and influence performance through best practice programme and PMO methodology to deliver the overall programme KPIs and client objectives in a collaborative manner.
- Providing leadership of the overall strategy, objectives and delivery of all projects in the programme portfolio, in line with overall Mace strategy and priorities. Drive and implement strategies adapting and delivering operational plans for the portfolio of work.
- Accountable for delivery of annual financial and operating targets for the programme (including KPIs, OKDs and business outcomes), leads effective cost management, ensuring budgets are met and utilises data and analysis to drive continuous business improvements.
- Ownership of the client relationship, strategic planning, budgeting, business operational and resource requirements, programme performance, compliance and reporting.
- Accountable for the overall performance and management of related projects in the programme portfolio covering planning, design, construction, monitoring and commissioning to ensure the programme is delivered on time, budget and specification. Manage large, complex programmes (size and scale) with country and sometimes multi-country complexity, scope and impact.
- Build and sustain an integrated, collaborative and high-performance team that proactively anticipates and responds to the requirements of the organisation and key stakeholders. Champions innovation and provides thought leadership across the programme portfolio advocating new ideas, ways of working and efficiencies. Leads and implements strategies for service delivery championing a culture of good practice and continuous improvement.
- Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
- Demonstrates 'good organisation citizenship' by working in an enterprise-wide way. Champions and drives the strategic implementation of enterprise-wide strategic priorities, initiatives and transformational change, taking an enterprise-wide leadership view at all times.
- Leads programme portfolio by example, setting and working by high standards, leads, guides and provides direction to business unit, ensuring a high performing programme portfolio and team that celebrates success and exceeding measurable goals.
- Relevant degree qualification.
- Demonstrable track record in establishing and delivering programmes to clients across a range of project/programmes.
