Job Details
Project: We are looking to appoint Package Manager (Piling & Substructure) to join our project team based in the London. Working on a data centre project, to oversee, coordinate, and take accountability for the Package of works allocated on the Project, reporting to the Mechanical/Electrical Lead and indirectly to the MEP Lead/Operations Director.

The Technology & Manufacturing Technology Business Unit (T&MBU) is driving improvements in sustainable construction and harnessing technology to deliver efficient project management. We are currently working across Europe and in the UK, delivering state of the art datacentres for some of the highest profile clients in the Technology Sector. Our ambitious expansion plans require a diverse workforce and a mix of innovative, approaches and experience to succeed.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Uphold and ensure that Mace requirements on Health, Safety & Environment are implemented and communicated to all Staff and Contractors
- Work with the Commercial team on the procurement strategy
- Ensure that work packages and the work packages returns are issued and checked in line with the Clients Scope of Works
- Check the MEP design and report on any issues with regards to the Mace standards or Clients requirements
- Work with the Planning team to ensure the Project has a robust, coordinated, and buildable schedules
- Ensure that PPC (Programme & Production Control) is implemented and updated in line with the Project requirements
- Work with the Design Team and Contractors to identify any pre-fabrication opportunities
- Work with the QA/QC team to ensure that the MEP construction is delivered to the Clients and Mace's standards
- Work with the Cx team to ensure systems are reviewed, completed, and available for commissioning
- Ensure all M&E changes are cascaded through the Project
- Provide weekly/monthly reports as required by the Project to Senior Management
- Review risks and provide mitigation, along with input to Risk Register, EWN, etc)
- Review and Manage Work package documentation
- Hold and record contractor pre-start meetings
- Review quality plans and requirements
- Review and Manage work package safety requirements and deliverables
- Review ITP requirements and implementation
- Development of L3 & L4 programmes
- Hold weekly contractor package meetings
- Attend and input to weekly design reviews with PMG
- Manage package design/coordination and CDP elements
- Manage package technical submissions, approval process, and technical compliance
- Commercial control of package - input to commercial manager
- Samples, Mock-ups, and Benchmark approvals
- Organise check of contractor setting out
- Implement QC procedures / BIM360, W0/W1/W2 inspection & sign off regime
- Manage the tagging process
- Work package reports, progress updates, and KPIs
- Manage witnessing, hold points and handovers
- Ensure full set of package records are maintained
- Identify, monitor, and manage package PPC deliverables
- Support testing and commissioning
- Manage handover documentation, test certificates, and As-Built drawing process
- Complete safety observations as required on Yellow Jacket
- Input and ensure collaborative planning
- Attend the Last Planner meetings
- Input into the Datascope 12 week lookahead
You have a degree qualification in engineering and a member of a professional bodysuch as CIBSE or the IET.Other Building Services HND level qualifications may also be considered. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams. You will have a construction or project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
