Are you passionate about communications and looking to make an impact in local government?
London Councils is seeking a proactive and creative Communications Assistant to support our Communications Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to high-quality communications initiatives that advance the work of London’s boroughs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop engaging content for social media (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) and assist in monitoring these channels.
- Create digital content and assist with internal communications, including newsletters and Teams channels.
- Help plan and deliver London Councils’ campaigns and events.
- Support the creation of publications, and assist with event logistics and stakeholder engagement.
- Carry out administrative tasks such as managing orders, invoices, and providing support to the communications team.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in using social media and digital tools like Canva and Adobe Rush.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A team player with the ability to switch between tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of Office 365 (particularly SharePoint, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- An understanding of local government and its challenges (desirable).
