Job Details
We're looking for an enthusiastic SEO Executive to join our Evergreen SEO team and help drive organic growth across key commercial areas at The Telegraph. In this role, you'll support the Senior SEO Manager and collaborate with the wider SEO team to optimise product-led content, such as Telegraph Recommended, and work across affiliate verticals like Finance, Travel and more. Your focus will be on improving organic traffic to convert readers into shoppers and support long-term growth.
You'll advise on SEO best practices, identify new opportunities for growth, and report on the performance of ongoing initiatives. Working closely with teams across Affiliate Partnerships, Editorial, and Product, you'll ensure content is optimised for search engines and supports our mission to reach new audiences and attract customers through high-quality, SEO-friendly content.
One of the best examples of our evergreen content can be found within Telegraph Recommended and its associated guides.
Key Responsibilities
Helping teams across the organisation to develop and deliver compelling content experiences for their target audiences and support them to achieve by:
- Assisting with keyword research, trend and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and areas for organic growth using tools such as Ahrefs/SEMrush.
- Creating and managing content calendars containing recommendations for new evergreen and topical content, as well as improvements for existing content
- Creating SEO briefs for writers of varying SEO knowledge in line with the agreed content calendar
- On page optimisation for a variety of content types including web articles and landing pages, according to SEO principles
- Highlighting contextual linking opportunities to increase and improve internal linking.
- Assist with reporting, evaluating and improving the performance of content
- Understand and respect editorial guidelines and key target demographics to guidecontent recommendations effectively.
Requirements
- Solid SEO experience with a deep understanding of content marketing techniques
- Able to proficiently optimise a variety of content types including web articles and landing pages
- Has a track record of working to commercial KPIs (e.g. qualifying traffic and lead-generation)
- Confident with thorough keyword research and monitoring keyword performance
- 'Can do' attitude - proactive approach with a passion for digital
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Confident using web analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, desirable), content management systems and SEO tools
- Effectively collaborates and builds rapport with internal stakeholders and colleagues
- Excellent communication skills
- Keen interest in the latest SEO industry trends, with a proactive approach to staying informed about new releases and developments.
