To provide and maintain a comprehensive planning framework and service for either a major project, multi-project portfolio or business area.

- You will manage the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.
- You will support the long-term success of planning performance for specified engines/sectors/hubs, and the overall contribution to the broader company goals.
- You will support the planning function in ensuring projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored. Leads application of specific planning/scheduling methods, techniques and tools.
- Provide and manage the planning framework, systems and resources to deliver an effective planning and reporting service to project managers and sponsors.
- Facilitate the production of the project WBS.
- Prepare, monitor and forecast baseline and working schedules during all project phases.
- Establish and maintain a basis of schedule for all schedules produced.
- Ensure all applicable schedule activities have rules of credit and quantity tracking mechanisms established.
- Identify and track all changes or potential changes to the project baseline and subsequent underpinning of change control mechanisms.
- Prepare progress reports, including earned value analysis, identifying critical areas and trends and recommend recovery options.
- Maintain the planning database and validate data across systems.
- Provide the required information to support the risk process.
- Provide project outturns against baseline for LFE and knowledge management.
- Ensure the accuracy of data communicated and reported to all stakeholders.
- The highlighting of any current and potential issues to the senior planning engineer, PCM and project manager.
- Maintain compliance with approved processes, procedures and project execution plans.
- The active contribution to continuous improvement of the functional quality and performance of project controls.
- To work in compliance with the collaborative management plan.
- You will support senior management in negotiations, contract development and other business development, ensuring that due diligence is applied.
- You will support the long term development of strategy for a function or business unit (BU), creating a sustainable business future.
- You will commit to making a positive impact for our people, our clients, and our planet, and take ownership for holding others to account who do not uphold the Mace values.
- You will support your project team and provide an environment to share knowledge and experience.
- You will actively network, innovate, and seek understanding of best practice, utilising the full depth of knowledge of Mace group, the centres of excellence, Mace way control centre and knowledge hub.
- You will develop and maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with the client and other project stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Exposure of working as a Primavera P6 project planner on large scale infrastructure projects ideally for a tier 1 contractor or a client side consultancy.
- A construction related degree (civil/structural engineering, or construction/project management or equivalent).
- Digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
- Experience of working on large projects/programmes.
- A construction or project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace have to offer.
- Working in a large portfolio of projects.
- Mentoring and upskilling of inexperienced planners.
- Implementation of planning principles within the project management community.
- Working with large range of stakeholders.
- Planning of complicated infrastructure projects and summarisation of these into portfolio level schedules.
- Experienced P6 user (P6 pro).
- Familiarisation with P6 EPPM (Web) - for config management.
- Management of large data sets into simple reporting formats, through coding and layout manipulation.
- Baseline control and config.
- Schedule import and export.
- NEC
- Construction - living accommodation, offices, workshops, sports facilities, associated infrastructure.
- Familiarisation with other planning software - Microsoft Project, Asta Power Project.
- Schedule risk analysis (QSRA).
- P6 configuration management - user access, OBS creation and management, user profiles, OBS assignation.
- Set up and use of resources - future project not yet required.
- Use of P6 for EVM - future project not yet required.
- Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
- Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
- Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
