Automation Tester
Company and Role Overview
Origo is a forward-thinking, growing Fintech company with a 30+ year history and a mission to connect the Financial Services industry.
The Testing team is responsible for ensuring the quality of the software developed before it is released to the market. The team are looking to expand the testing team and is seeking a candidate with a solid foundation in automation testing, backed by a proven history of working independently to implement comprehensive performance test plans and approaches. The role is a permanent post on a full-time basis.
Role responsibilities:
- Conduct and document detailed exploratory testing
- Design and executing tests to validate the response time, throughput, and scalability of a system under a variety of load conditions. help update and evolve performance test frameworks, guidelines, and standards for consistent practice
- Work closely with the development team and other departments to refine testing processes
- Interpretating and reporting test results while advocating for quality
- Reviewing user interfaces for design functionality and usability
- Working to Agile methodologies.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to company standards for change control
Key Relationships
- Being able to work well with business analysis, development & infrastructure teams both in determining test scope and the resolution of issues will be key
- Reporting results to your test and team lead.
Technical Skill Requirements
Essential:
- A strong testing background
- A background with development and programming experience
- Experience in developing automated testcases in at least one programming language
- Ability to design and prioritise test cases for functional and non-functional requirements
- Strong knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture patterns.
- Able to understand the business requirements and to identify test scenarios to demonstrate these have been achieved.
- Be able to adapt to shifting priorities in the business Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools and processes
- Experience of testing in an agile team
Desirable
- Hands -on experience with automated testing tools – Karate, Cypress
- Business / People Skills
Essential:
- Good oral and written communication skills, including facilitation and presentation / demonstration skills are essential;
- Capable of working in a small team environment, as well as having the drive to work on an individual basis are essential skills;
Desirable:
- Experience in the Financial Services industry is desirable – preferably with a working knowledge of the Life and Pensions and / or Fund Management sectors;
- Educated to degree level in a computing-related discipline is highly desirable;
- Ability to form strong working relationships with internal and external customers is desirable.
