What You'll Do:
The Global Automation team builds and operates systems that enable Criteo's commercial and operations teams to maximize business impact by providing reliable and scalable solutions. Our systems must be scalable, reliable, and adaptable, while providing robust interfaces and APIs to access Criteo's critical data.
We're looking for a Team Leader / Tech Leader who is passionate about back-end development, data pipeline management, and distributed systems. This role goes beyond just fostering team growth-it involves leading initiatives, facilitating key technical discussions, supporting team members by removing blockers, and ensuring smooth collaboration across projects. The ideal candidate is eager to take on these leadership responsibilities to drive both technical excellence and effective team dynamics.

Development and Architecture
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable back-end applications and data pipelines.
- Implement and maintain APIs used by Criteo's internal teams.
- Participate in architectural decisions in collaboration with Tech Leads and Engineering Managers.
- Ensure code quality through automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and best development practices.
- Optimize performance and ensure the security of our systems.
- Be a technical reference: challenge technical decisions, share best practices, and guide the team on complex technical issues.
- Mentor junior developers through pair programming, code reviews, and structured feedback.
- Define technical roadmaps, lead projects, and collaborate with the Product teams.
- Take an active role in team management: facilitate technical discussions, support career growth, and foster a collaborative engineering culture.
We primarily work with:
- Python (back-end services, data pipelines)
- REST APIs and distributed systems
- Prometheus for monitoring
- CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Docker
- Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
Who You Are:
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with expertise in Python or a similar language.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, back-end development, and data pipelines (ETL).
- Experience in application security (authentication, access control, encryption).
- Exposure to Data Science / Machine Learning challenges.
- Experience in an international and multicultural environment.
- Deep knowledge of software architecture, performance optimization, and scalability.
- Ability to work autonomously on complex topics and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in mentoring and guiding developers.
- Strong interest in both technical leadership and team management.
